Valamo and Lintula, the only two in the Nordic countries. One of Finnish national sceneries, the Heinävesi route, flows through Heinävesi. The beautiful water route has seven canals. The Kolovesi national park is located in the Heinävesi area.
The monastery of Valamo, the convent of Lintula and the Kermansavi ceramics works are famous sites, which attract over 200,000 tourists and pilgrims each year.
